Our Mission

College Club of Northern New Jersey, founded in 1913 and incorporated in 1922, is a 501c(3) organization that helps fund educational opportunities for young women and men through a variety of need-based grants and interest-free loans. Through numerous annual fund-raising events, combined with the generosity of our many benefactors, College Club is able to perpetuate and expand its financial assistance programs. 

In 2024, the Education fund awarded grants totaling $75,000 to young women in Paterson and northern New Jersey for the 2024--2025 academic year. Since its inception, the Education Fund has awarded more than 4,200 grants totaling approximately $2.4 million. Our Memorial Scholarship Loan fund awarded $63,500 in interest-free loans to young men and women in 2024, and more than 500 loans totaling more than $2.1 million have been provided to students since the inception of the Fund in 1947.

The Club has about 250 members who choose to maintain an educational emphasis in their lives. College Club presents members with opportunities to keep informed of educational developments through our Group Spot app page, monthly meetings, social media, and our website. We also hold regular meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at which carefully selected speakers who are experts in their fields present topics of interest to our members. In addition, small groups that focus on the special interests of our members meet throughout the year. 

Of course, members are encouraged to participate in our fundraising activities. Our fundraisers include the Book Fair, Author Luncheons, the Memorial Day Run, Capers, and the Community Thrift Shop.
